Community Involvement

At Revity FCU, we actively encourage our team to volunteer to give back to our community. Check out some of the most recent community events we’ve been involved in.

All-Team Service Project at PDY&F Community GardenAll-Team Service Project at PDY&F Community Garden, October 2023

Our whole team volunteered to help get PDY&F Community Garden ready for winter planting! Our team weeded beds, helped remove old wooden pallets, and helped lay new ground mesh on garden beds.

 


 

Renaissance Shred Day 2023Renaissance Shred Day, October 2023

Revity FCU Team Members assisted members and community members with disposal of shredded documents in October 2023. They also raised money for PD&F Community Garden, and we matched it for a total donation of $238 to help the community garden!!

 


 

Soabar Shred Day, June 2023

Soabar Shred Day 2023 Revity FCU Team Members assisted members and community members with disposal of shredded documents in June 2023. They also raised money for A Simple Gesture, and we matched it for a total donation of $660 to help hungry families in Guilford County!

 

 

 

 


 

Culture Fest, April 2023

Culture Fest 2023Revity FCU sponsored the First Annual Culture Fest at Peeler Recreation Center in April 2023. Revity FCU Team Members also attended the festival to talk to the Phillips Avenue community about Financial Wellness.

 


Youth Financial Literacy, February 2023

Youth Financial LiteracyA Revity FCU Team Member visited Northeast High School and The Black Suit Initiative in February 2023 to talk to students about Financial Literacy. Both middle and high school students learned about savings and checking accounts, credit and debt, and ways to keep themselves financially healthy.

 

 


Academy at Lincoln Science Fair, January 2023

Academy at Lincoln Science Fair Judges Team Revity FCU Members volunteered as Elementary and Middle School judges at the Academy at Lincoln Science Fair. They had a great time meeting so many science-minded youth!

 

 

 

 

 


Pumpkin, Costume, and Holiday Sweater contests, Fall and Winter 2022

Revity FCU Holiday Giveback WinnersWe held three contests for our Team to give back to our community creatively! Winners each received $500 to go towards the charity of their choice:

  • Pumpkin Winner benefitted PDY&F Community Garden
  • Costumer Contest Winner benefitted Backpack Beginnings
  • Sweater Winner benefitted I Am a Queen

 

 


Renaissance Community Day, July 2022

Renaissance Neighborhood Community DayWe joined Safer City of Northeast Greensboro for a Renaissance Community Day! Revity FCU Volunteers had a wheel of prizes to spin for, one of them being a Cash Cube where children had a chance to hop in and grab as much Revity FCU Cash as they could. We had a great time getting to meet more of our community members and spread some love!

 

 

 

 


A Simple Gesture Food Giveaway and Community Workday, Spring 2022

A Simple Gesture February 2022A Simple Gesture’s mission is to help end childhood hunger in Guilford County by making it easy to donate food to community organizations!

We held a food drive in our branches in February 2022 and collected 150 lbs of food from members and staff. Many thanks to everyone who donated!

We also participated in a community workday in conjunction with A Simple Gesture’s monthly donation drop off.  Three team members helped process over 1,600 lbs of food for Guilford County families. We are planning to continue this partnership with monthly workdays!

 


NeighborWoods Community Tree Planting, Lake Daniel Park Greenway, November 2021

Team Revity FCU at NeighborWoods 2021NeighborWoods is an initiative of Greensboro Beautiful that provides an opportunity to plant native trees in our communities. In November 2021, Revity FCU volunteers planted fig trees to help repopulate the urban orchard. This is our second year participating in NeighborWoods!

 

 

 


Renaissance Branch Shred Day, Phillips Avenue, October 2021

Renaissance Branch Shred Day 2021In October 2021, we held a Shred Day at our Renaissance branch location. Revity FCU volunteers assisted with disposing of sensitive documents and collected donations to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. Our team raised $360 in donations, and we matched that for a total of $720 going to Second Harvest! Second Harvest Food Bank is located in the Renaissance Shops and provides food assistance to the community and so much more.

 


Renaissance Rebound Back 2 School Event, Phillips Avenue, August 2021 & 2022

School SuppliesIn August 2021 & 2022, Revity FCU volunteers participated in the Renaissance Rebound Back 2 School event and helped get school supplies and backpacks into the hands of students in the Phillips Avenue community!

 

 


PDY&F Community Garden, East Greensboro, July 2021

PDY&F Community Garden 2021Revity FCU ❤s PDY&F! PDY&F’s mission is to cultivate a community garden to feed Greensboro, educate the community, and launch a new generation of black and brown farmers. Revity FCU team volunteers assisted at a July 2021 workday.

 

 

 

 

 


Soabar Shred Day, Soabar Street, May 2022

Soabar Shred Day 2021In May 2021, we held a Shred Day at our Soabar branch location. Revity FCU volunteers assisted with disposing of sensitive documents and collected donations to benefit United Way of Greater Greensboro. Our team raised $300 in donations, and we matched that for a total of $600 going to United Way! UWGG works to end local poverty as well as assists during natural disasters such as tornado relief.

 

 

 

 


Greater Greensboro Senior Games, 2021-Current

Senior Games 2021We are long-time sponsors and volunteers with the Greater Greensboro Senior Games! These events promote healthy lifestyles by encouraging seniors to sign up and participate in events. Our volunteers assisted in registering, scorekeeping, and refereeing events such as track and field, basketball, cornhole, mini golf, croquet, and table tennis.
